Why Our Focus on SMEs is Growing

Although more than 80% of our revenue comes from large businesses, our heart lies with SMEs and startups. In fact, over 80% of the businesses we support are SMEs. Additionally, around 5% of our projects focus on philanthropic or deep impact initiatives, reflecting our commitment to supporting projects that go beyond financial returns and address critical societal challenges.

Why the difference in visibility? Simply put, the financial requirements of large businesses are higher, which leads to larger transaction sizes, making them more noticeable in revenue terms. However, the sheer number of SMEs we support reflects our commitment to nurturing grassroots impact.

That is the reason why we are fundraising, as these funds will be used to develop our AI products further to become more efficient and double our support for SMEs around the world.

 We have cleaned up our database, integrated 2,000 investor contacts, and are working to make our AI more efficient. We still have 6,000  investors and SMEs ready to be cleaned up and require additional resources to expand our database further.

 

How AI is Helping us?

Our matchmaking system is powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence that goes far beyond traditional data matching. Instead of simply pairing companies and investors based on a few fixed criteria, our AI “reads” and understands the unique language and nuances in each profile—whether it’s an enterprise’s mission for positive change or an investor’s focus on sustainable impact.

 

 

 

What Our AI Does Today:

1. AI-Powered Investor Matching

Our AI analyzes business profiles, funding needs, other relevant funding criteria, and industry specifics to match them with the right investors.

Result: We’ve tripled our project intake from 1 project per month to 2-3 projects and aim to handle 10 projects per month by the end of the year. The matching is done in seconds, faster and more accurate than before.

Though the selection of investors is AI-driven, it will always be followed up by human-driven introductions.

2. Financial Stress Test:

  Our comprehensive, highly-rated product is specifically designed for impactful SMEs to ensure they are investor-ready. It takes into account general market of the business financial stability and related metrics.

We are expanding its reach by offering it to academic institutions, accelerators, and incubators to help train and prepare more impactful startups.

 

What We’re Developing:

Improved AI Matching Program: We are expanding its functionalities, making it more effective for both businesses and investors.

Automated Impact Reporting: AI will assist businesses in generating customized, industry-aligned impact reports based on international standards and compliant with regulations. This will support their fundraising efforts by providing credible, verifiable data for investors.

AI for Document Reviews: The next step involves teaching AI to review key documents like business plans, financial models, and investment pitches—helping SMEs refine their investor presentations efficiently.

Our Business and Revenue Model

At IIS, we’ve developed a hybrid revenue model that ensures businesses of all sizes can access our services:

Fixed plus Variable Pricing:

CHF 1K to 30K, depending on the services required (education, documentation, or branding).

1% to 3% of the funds raised through our investor network. This has been added recently and kept very low as we are active only in the impact sector.

This model is tailored to the unique needs of startups, SMEs, and larger organizations, ensuring that businesses only pay for what they need. We prioritize flexibility so that even early-stage companies can afford our guidance.
